Update to Blood Pressure Guidelines

If you haven't heard already, it is almost the end of 2017! Thank you for your support of American Dental Accessories. We can't wait for this next year and we have some new updates in the works for you— lots of new products and projects are just around the corner.

In the mean time, we wanted to share some news about updated blood pressure guidelines. As of this month, the American Dental Association (ADA) has changed normal blood pressure to 120/80 mm Hg, which is lower than the previous 140/90 mm Hg. The categories have also changed.

After the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC) released a new clinical guideline on hypertension, the ADA decided to make these changes.

Dentistry iQ just released a great article about what that means for your dental practice. They will summarize the changes of the new guidelines and go over more about blood pressure in general. See it on their website here.
