You're welcome!

We're glad you found the information helpful.

It's interesting that you make the connection to "open wounds" too. This is one reason that in CA (and some other areas - check with your local authorities) it is actually required that you use self-contained water systems for "surgical procedures".

We encourage you to check with your local dental association of similar organization to make sure you're taking the necessary steps.

Very interesting, makes me think about the type of water that I would be rinsing what is essentially an open wound in a dental office. I think any way that can be used to make water safer and less bacteria filled is something that should be looked into, implemented and used. Thanks for the knowledge it's very helpful.

Unfortunately, I am unaware of chasers for handpiece threads. Most repair facilities replace the back end of the handpiece (including the threads) if the threads are worn.

Installing a new back end is a fairly involved process, but is often more cost-effective than purchasing a new handpiece.

Can you pull the transport out of the machine, & if you do, will it spin by hand? If so, the problem is likely in the main motor or main fuse.

Do you have power? Does the power indicator illuminate? Failure in either of these areas could also indicate a blown main fuse.

If the transport won't spin outside of the machine, you've likely got a bent arm and/or damaged gears. Usually a visual inspection will reveal the culprit.

If you can't even remove the transport, you can try to remove the top plate by tapping out the three pins (as we demonstrate here) to access the components and free what is jammed. Unless something were somehow installed incorrectly, you should normally be able to lift the transport out regardless of function of the rest of the components.

You can also send your machine to us for free diagnosis. We will call you with an estimate for the repair as well. $149.95 (flat) + the cost of parts.
